What is the importance of water? “Water is life” is such a common expression that we use it almost as a cliché. However, that phrase is probably one of the most powerfully true messages the whole creation bears witness to. As we know the longest that humans can live without water is 3-5 days which shows the importance of clean water. The big concern in our time is that clean water is slowly decreasing because of pollution. As we know tap water even though we can drink it, is not totally clean, a lot of people are not aware of the fact that even in tap water we can find a lot of bacteria. There are regulations and standards that have to be checked before tap water is declared good for drinking usage. Of course, not all of the bacteria found in tap water are harmful and dangerous, a lot of them are even useful and very beneficial for our body. The major goal of this study is to check if the Brita filter which will be used in this experiment is effective against microorganisms that can be found in tap water, also to check if there are any microorganisms developing on the filter alone after some time of usage.
