IUS Students and Faculty Take Part in Kiss the Future AI Summit Sarajevo 2026
The International University of Sarajevo continued its support for the Kiss the Future AI Summit, whose third edition took place on 15–16 October 2026. An important meeting point for Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider region, the summit connected researchers, industry professionals, policymakers and students to exchange knowledge and explore the practical applications of artificial intelligence.
More than 100 IUS students, together with numerous professors, attended this year’s summit. The program offered opportunities to learn about current AI developments, engage with international experts and build connections beyond the classroom.
IUS also contributed to the Research Stage, where Prof. Dr. Kanita Karađuzović-Hadžiabdić, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Research, participated in the panel “The Future of Research and Infrastructure.” The discussion brought together representatives of academia, research organizations and government to consider the conditions needed to strengthen research and innovation.
Several IUS students presented posters showcasing their ongoing research, sharing their work with the wider research community and gaining valuable feedback. A particular highlight was the achievement of Software Engineering student Ismet Ozan Karabınar, who received the “Best Emerging Researcher Award.” IUS is proud of this recognition and congratulates him on his success.
The University was also represented with an exhibition stand showcasing its research infrastructure and ongoing projects. This provided an additional opportunity to introduce IUS’s research capabilities and discuss potential collaboration with summit participants.
Through student participation, research presentations and contributions to the program, IUS reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the region’s AI community and creating opportunities for young researchers to learn, connect and gain recognition for their work.
We thank Bloomteq and the Blum Institute for organizing another inspiring summit, creating valuable opportunities for our students and faculty, and bringing together the AI community in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider region.
